Plan: All plans
Role: Teammates with permission to resolve duplications
📢 This feature is rolling out gradually to all customers.
If a candidate profile contains hiring processes that actually belong to a different candidate, for example, because two candidates were incorrectly merged, you can detach those processes and create a new, separate candidate profile.
Limitations
- Only one new candidate can be created per detach. To separate more than one hiring process from a candidate profile, you’ll need to rerun the process.
- Stopped hiring processes cannot be detached.
- Suggested candidate details are only available for candidates merged after this feature was released. For older merges, details must be edited manually.
Detach hiring processes
- Open the relevant candidate profile and go to the Positions tab.
-
Select the hiring process that you would like to detach and click Detach processes.
- Review the suggested candidate details that will be added to the new profile.
- If the processes were merged after this feature was released, Recruit will suggest the original candidate's name and contact details from the stored merge history.
- If the merge happened before this release, you will need to edit the details manually.
-
Click Detach.
What happens after detaching
- A new candidate profile is created with the details you selected. The original candidate retains all other processes.
- The detached process keeps its original status and source.
- The action is recorded in the activity log of the new candidate profile.
Re-evaluating after detaching
If you want to re-run duplicate detection on a candidate that was previously unmerged, click Look for duplicates on the candidate profile. Any previous "different" decisions related to these candidates will be cleared before the new search runs.
💡Tip: Learn about auto-resolving duplicates and resolving duplicate applications manually.
