Role: Teammates with permission to edit workflows

You can customize the names of workflow steps to match your hiring process. To change the name of a workflow step:

  1. Navigate to the relevant position and select the Workflow tab, or open the candidate’s workflow

  2. Select the step you want to update.

  3. Open the dropdown under the step name.

  4. Select a different step from the list.

All preset steps are available in the dropdown.

Each step name can only be used once in a workflow. This helps keep reporting accurate. To use a similar step more than once, create each step with a unique name. For example, instead of using Hiring manager interview twice, use:

  • Hiring manager interview 1
  • Hiring manager interview 2

When you update a step in a position workflow, the change applies to candidates who have not reached that step yet.

To create a custom step name, add a step template before updating the workflow.
