Role: Owner Admin IT Manager

Location-based roles are those you can assign to a teammate in Recruit to grant them access to positions and candidates based on location. Location-based roles allow for:

  • More granular control of user permissions by location

  • Reduced manual processes for position assignments

  • Precise permission granting, minimizing access to sensitive information

Roles managed on the local level

There are three possible Location-based roles in Recruit:

  • Recruiting Manager: Has full access to positions in the selected locations, except when the positions have been marked as discreet.

  • Recruiter: Can see non-discreet positions and start a new hiring process with candidates from closed positions in the selected locations.

  • Management: Can see non-discreet positions in the selected locations.

📝 Note: See Company roles & permissions for information about how permissions work on the account level and Position roles & permissions for information about hiring team functions.

Assign location-based roles

  1. In Recruit, navigate to the Teammates page.

  2. Find the teammate you want to assign location-based permissions to, then click the three-dot menu and select Edit roles & permissions.

  3. Under the Location-based roles section, select the role you'd like to assign to your teammate.

  4. Click Save.

Roles and permissions logic

Users can be assigned multiple roles on the Company, Position, and Location levels. The permissions for Location-based roles are dependent on the combination of the Location-based role and the primary location of the position. The posting locations have no impact on roles or permissions.

Customize permissions

The permissions for location-based roles are the same as for Company roles. To customize permissions for recruiters and managers at the location level, you’ll need to set the permissions at the company level.

Permission matrices

🗂️ Key:

  • ✅ – The role has permission.

  • ❌ – The role doesn’t have permission.

  • ⚙︎* – Permissions are defined based on the recruiter and manager at the company level. The role can be customized in the Company settings.
