Save answers from pre-screening questionnaires directly to candidate fields. This keeps candidate profiles complete and creates structured data for search, filters, and reports.

Supported question types include:

• Short-answer
• Single-choice
• Dropdown

You can also use supported single-choice and dropdown answers as knockout questions.

Store answers to candidate fields

1. From the left-side menu, select Library > Pre-screening questionnaires.
2. Create a new pre-screening questionnaire or edit one from your list.
3. Create a question by clicking the plus ➕ icon or select the question you want to edit.
4. Choose a supported question type and select the relevant candidate field where you want to store the answer.
   • You can connect each candidate field to one question per questionnaire.
   • When a candidate submits the questionnaire, Recruit saves their answer to the selected field on their candidate profile. The field and answer also appear in the candidate’s activity log.
   • Candidate fields include Salary expectations and all the candidate fields listed in your company Settings > Data > Candidate fields.
5. Choose whether the question is required by checking the box.

6. Click Save.

   

Using more than one questionnaire in the application form

If an application form contains multiple questionnaires with multiple questions linked to the same field, only one answer will be stored. However, teammates with permission to view questionnaires can access and review all candidate answers related to that field in the Application tab, under Questionnaires.

Custom candidate fields

To store answers in custom candidate fields, an admin must configure the candidate field and enable candidates to complete it through pre-screening questionnaires. Custom candidate fields are available to Enterprise customers only. Learn more
