Overview

Recruit makes hiring more efficient by integrating with Indeed Apply, enabling candidates to apply directly through Indeed while syncing their information seamlessly into Recruit. The following section applies only to the Indeed Apply integration and does not affect other job board integrations).

Indeed Apply uses ATS Sync to automatically transfer job and candidate data between the two platforms, keeping everything updated while reducing manual work. This integration automatically syncs the following data from Indeed to Recruit:

  • Indeed applications

  • Candidate information

  • Indeed resumes

When you activate the Indeed Apply integration, positions in Recruit are automatically included in Indeed’s search results, increasing visibility without extra steps. Beyond job visibility, these features are synced for better results:

  • Screener questions: When you add screener questions to a job in Recruit, they appear on Indeed as well, helping you filter applicants more effectively. Learn about Prescreening questionnaires in Recruit.

  • EEO questions (for US jobs): US employers must collect demographic data (race, gender, disability status) through a dedicated field to comply with legal requirements. If you collect demographic data for compliance purposes, responses sync securely between Indeed and Recruit. Learn more about EEO questions in Recruit.

Set up the integration

  1. From the left-side menu, select Settings > Sourcing > Job Boards and find Indeed on the list.

  2. Enable free postings by clicking Disable (this sets posting to Automatic).

  3. Under PAID postings, click Integrate and connect your Indeed employer account.

  4. Sign in with your Indeed credentials and follow the instructions on Indeed to complete the integration.

  5. Once connected, the Enabled status appears, and you can sponsor jobs directly from Recruit.

Share disposition data

Enable this option to share status updates with Indeed for candidates who apply through Indeed Apply. If enabled, Indeed will receive updates when:

  • A new application is received

  • A candidate is hired or rejected

📝 Note: Indeed uses this data to improve job visibility and enhance candidate matching. Keeping this option enabled can also earn your jobs a Responsive Employer badge, helping them stand out to job seekers. Learn about the Responsive Employer badge

Enable or disable disposition status sharing

To control whether disposition data is shared with Indeed:

  1. From your avatar at the top right, select Settings > Sourcing > Job Boards and find Indeed on the list.

  2. Click the Automatic dropdown under FREE postings and check/uncheck the Share disposition data box.

⚠️ Important: If this option is enabled, ATS disposition status data will be shared with Indeed starting March 31, 2025 as part of their requirements.

Salary details

As part of the pay transparency law in New York City, Indeed will only publish your job listing in New York State if the salary information is included.

To add salary range disclosure to your position:

  1. Go to the position Description tab.

  2. Add the salary range at the end of the job description. For example: “The salary range for this role is $80,000 to $100,000 per year.”

💡Tip: Learn more about editing job descriptions.

Positions that require sponsoring

In some situations Indeed will only allow a position to be posted if it is sponsored using a paid campaign. These include:

  1. General recruitment postings for pool positions (without a specific job opening).

  2. Jobs that don't provide a specific city/state/country location except for remote jobs that align to the specified formatting.

  3. Duplicated postings.

  4. Positions from staffing or recruitment-based companies in the US and Canada.

Indeed Job Indexing & Sponsorship Policy

Jobs indexed to Indeed from sources such as your career website or Recruit are typically eligible for organic visibility (unless visibility is limited for other reasons). However, if your jobs are already indexed to Indeed, any job you post directly on Indeed will need to be sponsored. Indeed does not support free traffic to both indexed jobs and jobs posted directly on the platform.

This policy helps ensure job seekers are directed to the most accurate listings while reducing duplicate postings and enhancing the overall job marketplace. For more information, reach out to your Indeed representative.

Sponsored jobs on Indeed

Sponsored jobs on Indeed are promoted and appear higher in search results, helping you attract more candidates. With Recruit, you can set up and manage Indeed Sponsored Jobs directly within your account.

To sponsor jobs:

  1. In Recruit, navigate to the Sources tab of the position you want to sponsor.

  2. Scroll down to the Expand your recruitment section and select the Integrated job boards tab.

  3. Next to Indeed, click Sponsor.

  4. Set your monthly budget and confirm.

    • You’ll only be charged for unique clicks.

    • Sponsorship stops automatically if the position is Closed or Unpublished.

    • While the position is sponsored, the paid campaign will be shown as Active.

Note: Changes in Recruit, including posting, sponsoring, or editing jobs, may take a few hours to reflect on Indeed.

Edit your budget

  1. To change the budget for a running campaign, navigate to the Sources tab of the position and click Active > Edit budget.

  2. Select your new monthly budget.

Pause or resume the campaign

In Recruit, navigate to the Sources tab of the relevant position and click Active to see the campaign options:

  • To pause a campaign, select Pause campaign.

  • To resume a campaign, select Resume campaign.

Manage campaigns on Indeed

Additional metrics and management options are available on Indeed. To open your Indeed dashboard:

  1. Navigate to the Sources tab of a currently or previously sponsored position.

  2. Under the Expand your recruitment section, select the Integrated job boards tab to expand the menu.

  3. Find Indeed Sponsored (Integrated) and click View on Indeed. The Indeed dashboard will open in a new window.

⚠️If you use a pop-up blocker, you'll need to ask your IT Admin to whitelist the indeed.com domain.

Reports

You can monitor the performance of your paid campaigns. Candidates who apply by clicking on sponsored jobs are associated with a separate source named Indeed Sponsored. This allows you to compare the performance of the sponsored jobs in relation to the free jobs.

  • Position level: See the performance of your paid campaigns on the Sources tab of the position.

  • Company level: See the performance of your paid campaigns in the Sources overview report.
