Convert a candidate into a lead

1. Navigate to the relevant candidate’s profile, click the three-dot menu next to the candidate status, and select Convert to lead. The Convert lead to candidate screen will open.

   

2. Confirm when prompted.

Conversion restrictions

You cannot convert a candidate to a lead if they:

• Have started an interview
• Have been hired

If the candidate only has future scheduled interviews, Recruit asks you to confirm the conversion. Continuing cancels those scheduled interviews.

What happens to candidate data

When you convert a candidate to a lead:

• Resumes, files, and links move to the lead profile
• Outreach status stays the same
• Recruit records the conversion in the activity log

If you convert the same person between a lead and candidate more than once, Recruit keeps each conversion in their activity history.
