USA Fact is an employee screening and assessment tool used in the United States by employers, typically to evaluate the right match and run background checks. Once connected, you can add USA Fact as a workflow step and enjoy a more streamlined, secure, and consistent experience:
Trigger background checks directly from within Recruit, without switching tools.
Automatically send requests and receive updates as candidates move through the process.
Keep all background check activity in one place, so your team stays aligned and informed.
Limitations
USA Fact isn't supported on Safari.
Configure the integration
From the left-side menu, select Apps.

Search for USA Fact on the list, select the tile, then Continue to setup.
Click Copy API key and send it to your USA Fact account manager.
Once the USA Fact account manager approves that your account is ready, click Activate.
Recruit will verify the connection to USA Fact. Once the connection is complete, you’ll see a confirmation message, and USA Fact will appear in the list of steps you can add to any workflow.

Before getting started
Ensure you've set up an account and chosen your screening tests with USA Fact.
Make sure an Admin or Owner role has configured the integration.
📝 Note: When you add a step to an open position, it only applies to candidates who haven’t reached that step in the workflow yet and if their workflows haven't been customized.
In Recruit, click on a position and navigate to the position’s workflow.
Add a new step or select an existing one.
Change the step type to USA Fact.
Select a test from the drop-down menu. Tests displayed here are created in USA Fact.

Once the candidate reaches the USA Fact step, select the test you would like them to take from the drop-down menu.
Select the expiration date of the assessment. By default, the assessment is set to "Expire after 3 days." However, you also have the option to select "Never Expires" if you wish to keep it open indefinitely.

Click Start.
If you want the assessment to automatically start when a candidate reaches the step, turn on the Auto-start toggle.
📝 Note: If you don’t see the auto-start option, the feature is not available for that assessment app.
After you add the USA Fact step to a workflow:
The candidate gets an email with instructions and a link to complete the test.
Once they submit it, results are returned based on your organization’s agreement with USA Fact. (If you need help, your USA Fact account manager can assist you.)
When the results are ready, you’ll see them in the candidate’s profile under the Evaluation tab and in the Recent Activity.
⚠️Important: The candidate’s status is not automatically updated based on the test results. It’s up to the hiring team to review the results and decide how to proceed, based on your internal criteria. We recommend adding a Proceed with candidate step. This gives the position recruiter a chance to review the results before manually moving the candidate forward.
